Mark Martin - Guide, Captain and Full Time Professional Walleye Fisherman

Mark Martin shared with us his experiences with Muscle products after decades of use in his Mercury outboards, Chevrolet Suburban, boat and snowmobile trailer bearings.
Mr. Martin has been a professional fisherman for the last 40 years and has used Muscle products since 1998 in his gas and crankcase of his truck and gas and oil injection of his boat. He tells of his experience that year during the last day of the last qualifying regular season event before Championship: “I had a monster bag of Walleye and knew I would cash a great check and be in a great position for making the Championship.” Mr. Martin was about 4 miles from the finish line with time running out when his outboard RPM's started dropping like a rock and he knew the motor was seizing up. “I just kept it pegged hoping for a miracle like to just make it…. all the work I had done trying to make the Championship for the year was flashing back through my head… it could end just short of making it on time and a blown engine to boot. Then the miracle happened… just as it almost seized the RPM's shot back up like a rocket to 6,000 RPM's and I made it with 45 seconds left.”
Mr. Martin’s mechanic was onsite, and he flagged Jay over while idling around the waiting area and told him the story. Jay hopped in his boat and said, “It sounds good now… its idling great.” “He took it for a spin while I was waiting to be called up on stage with my catch.” When Jay returned, he reported that it seemed good, but he proceeded to check the compression. Jay “took the cowling off… looked at me… opens the oil reservoir door… looked at me again and said in amazement, ‘Can't believe this is even running… it has pumped all the oil out of the engine into the bilge.’” He then checked the compression and said, “This is amazing… the compression is perfect… it can't be possible.” When asked what Mr. Martin had been running for oil, he said “Mercury… what you recommend. It then hit me like a rock that all year I had been adding Muscle [MT-10®] to my gas and oil…He told me to keep using the Muscle products.”
Mark Martin also explained that he just retired his 2004 Suburban with over 400,000 miles, which he had since new, “because the frame is going … I had used the Muscle [in] the engine, transmission, and drive train…. [they] are still going like brand new so I am keeping it for parts.” He also has a small snowmobile trailer he uses for his Ice Schools “that has been rolling down the road with the same wheel bearings since 2000.” We highly recommend our Power-Lift Grease PL-10™ for use in wheel bearings.
